Friendly Visiting Program - Brooklyn

Organization Details:

Logo Friendly Visiting Program - Brooklyn

Our mission is to connect home bound seniors with kind-hearted volunteers who can provide them with companionship and enable them to continue living independently for as long as possible.

Description and/or History:
We are a dynamic and diverse group of volunteers or “Friendly Visitors” who visit home bound seniors in their area each week. Every member of our team is willing and eager to share their time with someone who is older, wiser, and has had a lifetime of experience. Visitors must be 16 years or older and able to commit to spending a minimum of six months with their home bound friend. In addition to providing companionship, our volunteers also assist seniors by reading their mail to them, doing light grocery shopping, and going for walks.
