Founded in 1879, The Bowery Mission is the third oldest Gospel Mission in the U.S. It strives to be the most effective provider of compassionate care and life transformation services in the City of New York.
Description and/or History:
The Bowery Mission offers community-based services to residents in the neighborhood of Lower East Side of Manhattan through its Outreach Program. The Bowery Mission provides daily compassionate care to the homeless and needy.
Three meals served daily, shower program three times a week, free medical attention onsite, 84,000 articles of clothing distributed and 77,000 nights of emergency shelter provided.
