]The mission of the Fort Greene Park Volunteers is to assist in the horticultural care and maintenance of the park and to provide a place where everyone feels their contribution is welcomed and appreciated.
Description and/or History:
Fort Greene Park Volunteers works in partnership with NY City Department of Parks & Recreation and the Fort Greene Park Conservancy to improve the care and maintenance of the park. Individuals, community groups and corporations are encouraged to volunteer. Volunteer activities include caring for the gardens and grounds by weeding, planting, spreading mulch or compost, aerating the soil, or installing erosion control. Other tasks include painting, cleaning, and assisting as needed.
