PAL applies early learning and youth development strategies with an emphasis on prevention and intervention programs. PAL inspires and supports New York City youth challenged by the highest risk factors to overcome obstacles and realize their full individual potential as productive members of society.
Description and/or History:
Get Involved Earn the smile and appreciation from a child or teen by volunteering at The Police Athletic League. We are looking for talented-dedicated volunteers to donate their time to help the over 55,000 children we serve throughout the five boroughs.
Volunteer Opportunities PAL Citywide Events – Volunteer as a potato sack race judge or serve as a holiday elf bringing cheer to our children at one of our many events. Education and Arts – Support the academic success and artistic cultural enrichment of the children we serve through tutoring, workshop facilitation or sponsoring experiential learning trips. Our programs: Adventure Learning Art and Essay and Public Speaking Contests PAL Arts PAL SMARTS Computer & Internet Access Training Homework Help In-School Training & Employment Program (In-STEP) Youth Forum Summer Youth Employment Program (SYEP) Individual Volunteerism - Volunteer as an ongoing program support person in one of our centers. Corporate Volunteers/ Sponsorship –– Sponsor an event, donate equipment,or send your employee-volunteers to facilitate workshops on career exploration, financial literacy,or provide internships.
