Description and/or History:
The Prospect Park Volunteer Corps is the department that recruits, train and accomodate Prospect Park volunteers. The volunteer possibilities include Park beautification, planting, weeding, painting, mulching, general office work, woodland restoration and more. This is also a place to meet others who think GREEN and enjoy nature while volunteering.
The Prospect Park Volunteer Corps (fomerly The Prospect Park Volunteer Department) has been in existance since the early 1980's. We serve volunteers from age 14 and up. Individuals under the age of 14 must come with adult supervision. Since the 1980's this department has grown from 75 volunteers to 4,900. We serve individuals, community groups, school groups, churches and synagugs and corporations.
