]The West 132nd Street Community Garden offers an oasis of tranquility and natural beauty in central Harlem. The garden boasts a meandering lawn, goldfish pond, colorful and fragrant flora and shady nooks that relax and refresh.
Description and/or History:
The West 132nd Street Block Association is a not-for-profit, civic organization which seeks to improve the quality of life for New York City residents and visitors. It manages a community garden for which volunteers are sought.
In 1993, the Garden was transformed from a litter strewn, vacant lot into a park-like garden with a lawn, pond, perennial beds, herbs, shrubs, shade trees, etc.
