]Imani House, Inc. is an award winning non-profit known for its free innovative youth and family support services. Our mission is to assist low-income youth, families and immigrants to create viable neighborhoods where residents are decision makers who take responsibility for the improvement of their lives and surroundings.
Description and/or History:
Imani House, Inc. (IHI) has developed a wide network of collaborating agencies that offer unduplicated or similar services, including legal, immigration, domestic violence, HIV assistance, housing, continuing education, social services and other assistance.
IHI Adult Literacy/ESOL Program offers group and one-on-one classes of English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) Reading and Comprehension, Writing, GED, Pre-GED, Math (Literacy), Job referral and training, Life Skills, Civics, Immigration and Legal Referrals, Volunteer Recruitment, Training, Certification and Placement.
IHI also has a Food Pantry and Nutrition Program, Youth Enhancement and Development Projects i.e. IHI/P.S. 282 After School Program and IHI Building Bridges Program/George Westinghouse High School.
