Our mission is to provide supportive services to the underserved, particularly, youths and their families including the elderly in order to empower them to live their dreams and engage in helpful activities to themselves and the society.

Description and/or History:
Bethel Prayer Ministries (BPM) - DBA Christ Pentecostal International Church (CPIC) - is a multi-purpose, faith-based organization. Established in 1996, it is located at 4262 Third Avenue in the Bronx, New York, 10457. CPIC is a parent to fifteen church assemblies. It is classified by the Internal Revenue Services as a 501 (c) (3) organization. Its Dun & Bradstreet number is: 009269965.

CPIC’s outreach effort in New York State is designed to provide supportive services to the underserved, particularly, youths and the elderly in order to empower them to live their dreams and engage in activities that are helpful to themselves and to society.

CPIC has an independent and ethnically diverse professional board of directors made up of three women and four men who provide fiscal guidance and on-going oversight of the organization’s operation. Members of the board either reside or work in the Bronx. To serve our community well, we have established extensive linkages and maintained numerous collaborations with other service providers, including: food banks, NYC Human Resources Administration, Lehman college, Commerce banks, Bronx Lebanon Hospital, the Bronx Community District Board (CD)#6, other local churches, including the Roosevelt High School, and community leaders. These are very useful in our on-going projects.

Currently, more than 2,500 children, youth, seniors, and their families benefit yearly from over 5,000 units of our program services since the inauguration of our social service three years ago. We offer bagged food though our food pantry, where about two tons of nutritious food and groceries are packed and served weekly. In turn, over 300 needy people are served monthly in the Bronx’s Community Districts (CD) #6. Recently, we began serving cooked-meals three times a week to 50 home-bound seniors. The seniors are brought by volunteers to our center for hot meals and activities designed to enhance their quality of life. Other programs we offer include a vibrant youth service in which youth interact with seniors in a supervised environment and learn from each other through such activities as dancing and learning instrumental and vocal music. Currently, our computer lab is equipped with computers that help our students do their homework assignments. We plan to serve 40 additional students in the summer of 2009. We offer other supportive activities, such as life skill training, career advisement, and guest lectures on domestic violence, elder abuse, and teen pregnancy prevention.
