Organization Details:
Chelsea Sculpture Park will be New York City's first museum without walls. Set against the backdrop of the Hudson River, Chelsea Sculpture Park will offer fine art for the public to experience, up close and outdoors. The park's mission is to provide an aesthetic oasis in the Chelsea Cove section of Hudson River Park, just steps away from the world-class Chelsea Art District. Sculptures by the great artists who have contributed in establishing New York City as the nexus of the art world will be displayed on an annual basis in a lush landscape. The vitality and interactive nature of the exhibition program will promote enjoyment of the arts and help further the accessibility of fine arts in our great city. We have three objectives: to document the artistic history of the City of New York -to honor the Post-War II generation of artists who where instrumental in establishing our city as the center of the art world - to help further accessibility of fine art in public spaces.
