Infinite Family
Infinite Family strengthens and inspires vulnerable southern African children to lead fulfilling lives. Thanks to the marvels of the internet, Infinite Family helps bridge gaps both physical and cultural between the United States and Africa. Through online video chats, Infinite Family creates a safe and personal forum for adult mentors to communicate with South African children affected by HIV/AIDs and poverty. It starts with a conversation, but soon becomes so much more. Becoming a mentor through Infinite Family requires less than you might think. With little more than your desktop or home computer and one half hour a week, you can be on the way to being a positive light in the life of a South African child.
Description and/or History:
By being involved in Infinite Family, you help a southern African child develop real-life skills, the very keys to future success. By sharing a child's life, you touch more than one life, you touch those around them and the communities in which they live. That kind of giving makes a real difference. To watch a child blossom and grow is a remarkable experience. To have a child look up to you, to somehow enrich his or her life, is a rewarding experience. But to have your own life touched, to blossom and grow with a child...that is a profound experience. We all have a gift to give. It's in all of us. And it's different for each and everyone of us. Be a mentor. Be a friend. Just be there. The gift is you!
