Organization Details:
For more than 25 years, Women In Need, Inc.'s mission has been to provide housing, help and hope to New York City women and their families who are homeless and disadvantaged.
Description and/or History:
Women In Need (WIN) was founded in 1983 and, since that time, has grown into a true multi-service agency. WIN provides transitional housing and permanent supportive housing to homeless families as well as outpatient substance abuse treatment services specifically designed for women. WIN supplements these core services with an array of other comprehensive services that include child care, job training, domestic violence counseling and referrals, and HIV prevention and education and referrals.
