The Center provides ongoing English language instruction, job placement services, immigration application assistance, bilingual case management, and educational counseling. Staff also organize informational seminars to inform community members about resources available to them in the larger community.
Description and/or History:
The Ansob Center opened its doors in 1996 in order to assist refugees coming from the former Yugoslavia. Over the years the Center has gone on to serve a diverse refugee and immigrant population including individuals from Africa, Asia, Eastern Europe and the Middle East. The Center helps community members to develop the skills necessary for long term self reliance and achieve the same dreams and accomplishments they would have if their lives had not been disrupted by war and/or relocation.
