Flushing Council On Culture And The Arts

Flushing Council on Culture and the Arts (FCCA) was funded in 1979 to be a revitalizing force for its community, a catalyst for developing and promoting the arts. FCCA operates and programs historic Flushing Town Hall as a center for the visual and performing arts on behalf of the City of New York. FCCA is a member of NYC's Cultural Institution Group, and an Affiliate of the Smithsonian.

Description and/or History:
For over twenty years Flushing Council on Culture and the Arts has been delivering innovative educational opportunities to youth, adults, and seniors throughout the Borough of Queens. The focus of our education department is to provide quality arts education programming that develops and promotes the value of the arts across all age groups and cultures in our community.

The Education Department currently serves over forty senior centers annually. Our teaching artists facilitate on-site workshops and/or residencies at senior centers in dance, music, visual arts, and East Asian arts.

Flushing Town Hall also provides numerous workshops, events, and performances over the years to promote the arts in Queens and develop the artistic abilities and creativity of its citizens.
