Queens Volunteer Lawyers Project, Inc.

Free legal service to low-income residents of Queens County, provided by pro bono volunteer attorneys in various civil law matters.

Description and/or History:
This program began in 1991 and has helped thousands of Queens residents facing serious civil law issues. We operate the CLARO-Queens Consumer Debt Clinic which provides legal information and advice to pro se litigants in Queens Civil Court. We also operate the Queens Foreclosure Conference Project which has been providing assistance since December, 2008. We also help with various other civil law matters such as evictions, uncontested divorce, child support and we soon be taking cases for personal bankruptcy.
