Globalhood
Globalhood’s mission is to reduce global poverty and inequality, by enabling innovative project that promote collaboration between people from various disciplines and cultures.
Description and/or History:
Globalhood, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, offers a fresh approach to advisory services by promoting and facilitating collaboration and sharing of outcomes across diverse disciplines, and between practitioners and beneficiaries. Incorporated in March 2007, Globalhood provides multidisciplinary and multicultural consulting services that enable international and community development organizations to achieve greater efficiency and increase their impact. Globalhood departs from the traditional international development paradigm, in which projects are typically structured according to the dictates of specific professions, and often overlook or simplify critical aspects of local context. International organizations and development projects often overlap and duplicate efforts. Well-intentioned projects often result in short-term panaceas rather than sustainable, longterm solutions. Cognizant of the operating realities of many international and community development organizations, Globalhood’s management team consists of nonprofit executives and economic development experts with extensive knowledge of field operations. Our team includes former diplomats who have served on the United Nations Economic and Social Council and the Executive Board of UNICEF, and have negotiated complex issues in the various committees and governing bodies of the United Nations. Our management team draws its private sector expertise from bankers and management consultants who specialize in business development, organizational design, and management. Our industry knowledge and diversity allows us to appreciate the political intricacies and institutional constraints that challenge the work of nonprofit organizations and development projects. We offer our clients the latest techniques in program evaluation, monitoring, and results-based analysis as required by donor countries and development aid organizations. Globalhood maintains a roster of over 90 experienced consultants, many of whom hold advanced degrees and possess an average of ten years experience in their respective fields. We tap into Globalhood’s international network of over 680 contacts across 89 countries for on-the-ground advice, expertise, and project execution. As a result, Globalhood can provide technical assistance, tools, and sharing of resources to international and community development organizations. Headquartered in New York, Globalhood has established its presence in Bulgaria, Canada, China, Dominican Republic, India, the Netherlands, Sierra Leone, and Singapore.
