Rebuilding Together NYC rehabilitates the houses of low-income homeowners, and the facilities of community centers, throughout the five boroughs. Often times our applicants are elderly and/or disabled homeowners that wish to remain in their homes and community. We perform our work believing that all New Yorkers should live safely and comfortably.

Description and/or History:
We use skilled and unskilled volunteers - carpenters, plumbers, electricians - to complete our work for the benefit of project recipients. After a day, a week, or a month of work - depending on the scope of the project - we make a tangible, important difference in the lives of those we assist.

Our organization has had a presence in NYC for 10 years. Initially, each borough had its own affiliate, but in 2006 the boroughs merged to become RT NYC. We are one of 200 affiliates around the country of Rebuilding Together Inc.
