Brooklyn Bridge Park Conservancy - NY - New York City
For nearly 20 years the Brooklyn Bridge Park Conservancy has been working to bring a world-class park to the downtown Brooklyn waterfront. Brooklyn Bridge Park provides free educational, cultural, and recreational programs for the community, including the very popular Movies With A View series. We are dedicated to creating a world-class park that reflects the history and character of the Brooklyn waterfront, and serves the people of the New York City region and beyond.
Description and/or History:
Working with the local community, New York City civic organizations and our elected officials, the Brooklyn Bridge Park Conservancy has helped bring bring the vision of creating New York City's next great park to the brink of reality. The plan for Brooklyn Bridge Park has been approved, and construction is set to begin in 2007. Free Events in the Park - The beginnings of Brooklyn Bridge Park, between the Brooklyn and Manhattan Bridges, have become a treasured urban oasis. The Conservancy brings exciting cultural, educational and recreational programming to the Park all season long - all free! Get involved! Enjoy great events in the Park, join the Green Team, participate in community meetings, voice your support for the Park, share your ideas for the Park, or donate to the Conservancy. Every effort makes a difference as this magnificent stretch of waterfront transforms into New York City's next great park!
