Logo Grand Street Settlement, Inc.

Founded in 1916, Grand Street Settlement was initially established to serve low-income immigrant families residing on Manhattan’s Lower East Side. Today our programs reach more than 10,000 people of all ages annually.

Grand Street Settlement’s mission is to expand opportunities for low-income families and individuals by providing culturally relevant services that support community building, advocacy, self-determination and an enriched quality of life. We fulfill this mission through a variety of community-based programs and services that address the needs of the entire community—from infants and expecting mothers to teens and seniors. Our unique holistic approach to programming—a model for which the agency has garnered statewide and national recognition—integrates social services, academic intervention, career exploration, and leadership development with meaningful advocacy and support.
