Starlight Children's Foundation is an international non-profit organization dedicated to improving the quality of life for seriously ill children and their families. Working with more than 1,000 hospitals worldwide, Starlight provides a wide variety of both in-hospital and outpatient programs and services. A leader in delivering distractive entertainment therapies, Starlight programs benefit over 100,000 children worldwide each month.

Description and/or History:
Since 1985, the NY*NJ*CT Chapter of Starlight has been offering hope and a brighter future for seriously-ill children throughout the tri-state area. As one of 14 Starlight chapters around the world, the NY*NJ*CT Chapter is one of the largest and strongest, helping to lead the organization in creating and maintaining innovative ways of helping the children we serve. Through hospital programs and fun activities the entire family can enjoy, the NY*NJ*CT Chapter touches the lives of more than 275,000 children every year. Starlight helps to restore some of the laughter and happiness that a serious illness takes away from children, and allows them to experience the simple joys of childhood.
Starlight was founded originally as a wish granting organization back in 1983 and has grown tremendously over the years, creating programs that focus on the families and hospitals, as well as individual children. We pride ourselves on providing continuous services both in hospital and out. Our expansion is due in large part to the generosity of our donors and sponsors and the unfailing dedication of our board members and volunteers.
