FEGS

FEGS' mission is to respond to our community's needs, helping each and every individual achieve the highest level of success in school, in the community and at work, while helping businesses meet their ever changing needs; to work in partnership with UJA-Federation in helping to plan for and meet the needs of the Jewish and general community in New York; and to serve individuals and families who have mental, developmental and physical disabilities or who are economically disadvantaged.

Description and/or History:
Through FEGS, services are delivered in the areas of Employment & Training, Education & Youth, Behavioral Health, Developmental Disabilities, Services for the Deaf Population, Residential, Rehabilitation, Family Services and Homecare.
FEGS was established in 1934 by the Federation of Jewish Philanthropies of NY to find work for unemployed men and women. FEGS has evolved to become one of the largest and most diversified private, not-for-profit health related and human service organization in the United States. With operations in over 300 facilities, residences, and off-site locations, F·E·G·S serves approximately 1000 people each day throughout the agency.
