Organization Details:

NYCharities.org is a free, online donations site dedicated to increasing charitable dollars from donors to NY causes. It gives donors a place to learn about NY charities, and an easy, safe means to give time, money and talent. Donations are made through credit card contributions.

The most popular tool is an events invitation module, which allows charities to create invitations and sell tickets to their fundraisers. Thousands of tickets are sold through the events screens. There is also an events calendar which is the most heavily trafficked part of the NYCharities.org site.

Our objectives are:
• To enhance the technology capabilities of all NY charities by providing free donations screens and events tools.
• To make all charities visible to a wider audience of donors.
• To extend the fundraising reach of charities.
• To advance communications between nonprofits and their donors.
• To promote effective ways of utilizing the cost efficiencies of Internet fundraising.

NYCharities.org was launched in October 2004. To date, over $23 million dollars has been processed and sent to charities in New York. We have helped over 11,000 charities with free technology tools and event ticketing screens.
