Overall Experience

I've been a volunteer on South Street's vessels for 11 years and have loved every minute of it.

South Street Seaport Museum is a history museum dedicated to telling the story of the port of NY and its pivotal role in the growth of the country. As a participant in its widly recognized sail training program, I learned skills which have allowed me to persue professional maritime employment, a dream I've had since an early age. In addition, I have been able to pass on to other volunteers and to New York City High school students some of those skills as well.
