Disaster Preparation and Trauma Mitigation (DPTM):
DPTM provides training for leaders and volunteers of the entire responder community, which includes community volunteers, professional relief workers, case workers, and those tasked with supporting primary victims and disaster-affected communities.
World Cares Center (WCC) was founded in the aftermath of 9/11 by community members who came out spontaneously to help their city in its most desperate time of need. Over nearly a decade of providing programs to serve the community and research to meliorate training of local communities to foster a truly coordinated response, WCC created the Disaster Preparation and Trauma Mitigation© program (DPTM). DPTM is a dual track training program that fills the gaps in knowledge, fosters self reliance and sufficiency and encourages collaboration and improved communication between community volunteers, community leaders and response agencies.
