The mission of NY de Volunteer is to inspire and mobilize the local Japanese population and its extended network to improve the greater New York metropolitan community. Description and/or History:
Orientation Helping to take the first steps toward volunteerism through explaining the contents of activity of NYdV, future activity, experiences. Workshop NYdV workshops are designed to educate potential volunteers about specific techniques and general issues related to social services and community development. Frequent guest speakers offer fascinating glimpses into these topics. Exchange Cafe de Volunteer A monthly, informal gathering of NYdV volunteers. Have a cappuccino with organizers and members! Discuss future plans, debate current needs, or just relax and talk with new friends. Web Site and Mailing List NYdeVolunteer.org is our online networking portal. Members use it to find information about upcoming programs, lists of social and community services organizations around New York with volunteer needs, and orientation materials for novice volunteers. Bulletin boards and email mailing list are used to exchange information about volunteer opportunities and discuss past events.
