Organization Details:

Natural Resources Protective Association was founded in 1977 to protect the marine waters of New York City. NRPA is involved with protecting and the conservation of the fisheries of NY State, and cleanups of beach's and wetlands in New York City. NRPA is an ALL-VOLUNTEER Organization. Volunteers are need on a continuous basis for cleanups.

Description and/or History:
NRPA is dedicated to protecting wetlands and beach's in New York City. It all volunteer workforce cleans coastal shorelines, and wetlands, and it is also an advocate of protecting marine fish stocks
NRPA has fought to stop the construction of toxic dredge spoil islands in Raritan Bay and Jamaica Bay. It has helped in the aquistion of many prime pieces of waterfront property by city, state of federal agencies to be added to NYC Parks dept.
Board members sit on the NY State Marine Resources Advisory Council, Coastal Conservation Association, NY/NJ Baykeeper Board and many other marine related organizations Executive Boards
