Going Coastal, Inc.

Going Coastal is a grassroots volunteer organization dedicated to connecting people to coastal resources by raising awareness of the immense value of the coastal environment by publishing books and producing community outreach programs.

Description and/or History:
Programming addresses three major themes: Clean Water, Water Access & Safety, and Maritime Heritage.

Since 2003, Going Coastal, Inc. has served as New York City’s coastal guardian. It is founded by two women concerned with the evolving state of our urban coasts, lack of awareness and participation by the public, and the inadequacy of current resources for enjoying and preserving coastal resources.
