The I.S.Y program is an academic enrichment program designed to help our participants graduate, go on to higher education, and find a job.

We accomplish this goal through classroom instruction, a personalized program of agency support services, and through providing participants summer jobs.

Through our classes in SAT prep in math and reading, our math and reading tutoring sessions, our College Prep and Job Readiness classes, and through College Tours we step in to fill in the gap in services experienced by young adults in underserved communities, and to provide positive, involved, committed adults to help educate, guide and inspire our participants.

Through field trips and internship and employment opportunities we provide youth with real world experiences to increase cultural and social sophistication, polish, self-esteem, and leadership skills.

Additionally, our program teaches high level critical thinking skills, improves communication and public speaking skills, encourages kindness, builds friendships, and teaches nonviolent problem solving techniques.

The I.A.L is a non-sectarian, non-profit community service organization incorporated in 1975. Built upon cooperation with other agencies and sharing of existing resources, we aim to enhance and improve the quality of our services and of the life of the community by partnership with government agencies, educational institutions and other community based organizations, as well as our valued volunteers.

For 30 years, the I.A.L has operated school based programs, youth employment services, cultural enrichment programs, and related human services. With outreach capabilities to over 200 community based organizations, the I.A.L. has developed an impressive network of linkage organizations as a source for referrals in health, education, social services, and youth employment.

Additionally, over the years, the league has given much assistance to its community! We brought smiles to under privileged children by giving them toys from Santa, brought Christmas trees to local churches, precincts, and schools, and gave clothing and food to those in need. All of our services are provided free of charge.
