Concrete Safaris empowers youth to become healthy leaders through green exercise programs that enrich the mind, body, community, & environment.

Description and/or History:
Concrete Safaris offers youth (ages 5-17) the opportunity to become proactive, healthy community leaders through fitness, hiking, and gardening activities. In 2008, participating youth designed and installed Paradise Garden at the heart of Washington Houses in East Harlem. In 2009, they designed and installed Mad Fun Farm, the first kid-centered farm on NYC Housing Authority property. The children hike on select Saturdays throughout the year in local parks and regional mountains.
