Organization Details:
We provide broad-based essential services to immigrants, refugees, asylees and other newcomers within the 5 boroughs.
Description and/or History:
We are located on Henry Street on the Lower East Side. We help with the process of naturalization. We assist in procuring benefits (food stamps, SSI, Medicaid, Food Pantry, clothing, etc.), and coordinate heath care referrals.
We also provide educational programs, including classes in English for Speakers of Other Languages. Our ESOL Program operates from September through June, relying solely on volunteer teachers. Classes take place Mondays through Thursdays, mornings, afternoons, and early evenings.
Cabrini Immigrant Services has existed since 1999, and continues to grow significantly each year. Volunteers are a crucial component of the work we do.
