Outreach Volunteer, Latino Community
Position Summary:
Assists Latino Outreach Coordinator in the delivery and implementation of American Cancer Society’s cancer screening programs covering breast, cervical and colorectal cancer.
Essential Functions:
- Answers telephone calls via the Latino Hotline, providing information and referrals to local screening services.
- Attends portable screening events and provides clerical assistance to complete registration forms.
- Provides office clerical support with mailings, telephone calls and other administrative duties.
- Provides translation assistance as needed.
- When appropriate helps raise awareness of early detection and prevention among underserved populations in Queens County.
- Fully Bi-lingual (Spanish/English) required.
- Excellent communication skills, including strong public speaking.
- Able to work with diverse populations and within a team structure.
