Volunteer Opportunity Details: |
|
Every 30 seconds a child in Africa dies of malaria. Our organization is able to collect, sort and donate medical supplies that are necessary to save lives. In the United States, patients are never turned away from hospitals for a lack of medical supplies whereas in developing nations more often than not, they are only able to treat patients in emergency situations due to a lack of supplies. Your participation with our organization will help us to sort these very supplies which are so desperately needed in developing countries.
Doc to Dock has no requirements. A brief training session is given at the beginning of each sorting session where gloves are given to each participant for the duration of the sort. Doc to Dock has received volunteer participation from individuals, schools, developmentally disabled groups, and churches.
