Recruiting and checking Safe Haven locations
Last updated on January 14, 2010

Volunteer Opportunity Details:

I'm interested in this opportunity

We need volunteers to check on existing Safe Haven locations and recruit new ones.
For existing Safe Havens volunteers determine that the location is still valid, check if the name of the manager or owner has changed and check to see if the Safe Haven decal needs to be replaced.
At the same time, we need to recruit new Safe Haven locations to replace the many small stores that used to be Safe Havens and have now closed.

This is a great opportunity for high school or college students who have community service requirements. It could be fun for 2 students to team up and do this together.
It is good, too, for seniors who have a few hours to spare and like to walk around the neighborhood.
Parents with school age children who would like to make sure their children and their neighbors' children are safe on their way to and from school.
We do the training here at our office - it will take about a half hour to explain how we go about recruiting Safe Havens and what we are looking for in a Safe Haven location - we provide the materials you will need.
