New York Presbyterian Hospital-Weill Cornell is looking for women age 21 and older interested in becoming on-call advocates in the Emergency Department. Advocates provide information and emotional support to survivors of sexual assault and domestic violence in the ED setting.
Upon completion of training, volunteers must commit to 3 on-call shifts per month (Weekends and Holidays 8am-8pm/8pm-8am and Weekdays 6pm-8am) for at least one year. Advocates must be able to attend the Emergency Department within 30 minutes of contact when on-call, transportation reimbursement is provided.

Volunteers must: have an in-person interview with program staff, obtain clearance through hospital volunteer and health services, and complete a 40 hour training that will include full weekend days and one evening in November (11/15, 11/16, 11/22, and 11/23, 12/4.)
