Volunteer Opportunity Details: |
|
We are looking for dedicated volunteers to visit patients at the Coler Campus of the Hospital on a weekly or bi-monthly basis. There are two different opportunities to do this.
We are forming a group to visit two Wednesdays a month beginning at 6:30pm. The group meets at the F subway stop on Roosevelt Island and travels together to the hospital for a two hour visit on different patient units.
The second opportunity is to be matched with a specific patient and set up a mutually agreeable time to meet on a weekly or bi-monthly basis. Volunteers can choose a match based on the patient's stated preferences and time slots.
Angelica will provide match, support and necessary supplies and materials as needed.
Coler Goldwater is a City Hospital and as such has requirements for all volunteers.
- Record of Immunization (can be obtained from an Internist/PCP)
- Annual PPD (can also be obtained from an Internist/PCP or the hospital).
- Hospital volunteer form.
- Clearance from the Hospital Occupational Health Department. Appointments can be arranged on a flexible basis once Hospital volunteer form is submitted.
- Compassion and a commitment to improve the lives of less advantaged fellow New Yorkers.
This opportunity is sponsored by: Angelica Patient Assistance Program
