Becoming volunteer walking tour is an opportunity for people affected by 9/11 to share their stories with national and international visitors to the World Trade Center site. Tours are provided daily, and are 70 minutes in length, beginning at the Tribute Center, traveling around the perimeter of the World Trade Center site through the World Financial Center. Tours are presented by a lead and support volunteer guide. The lead guide weaves together their personal experiences, and the facts of 9/11 and the aftermath. The support role focuses on keeping the group together. Walking tour guides are residents or workers from Lower Manhattan, survivors, recovery workers, volunteers, or family members that lost loved ones.
