Volunteer Opportunity Details: |

I need an intern who is passionate and serious. This is an internship opportunity for a college senior, college graduate, or a graduate student.
An intern will work directly with the Senior Development Associate to:
• Write and send out 2 grants per month for 2009 that have been researched
• Call and write the 24 grant-makers to build a stronger relationship with them for Mount Hope
• Help to write the 24 grant proposals
• Research for new grants and ensure due diligence by using 990’s and Foundation Center Online to perform background research
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree with superb writing skills
• Excellent organizational and communication skills
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel. The intern must be motivated to learn the required skills to do the job and open to the thorough review of work for top quality standards.
• Knowledge of grant-writing is a plus.
The Mount Hope Housing Company is a non-profit, community development organization that provides affordable housing as well as youth services, employment and job training, real estate development and family asset building programs to residents of the Mount Hope community in the Bronx.
Position open until filled. Start and end date of internship will accommodate intern's schedule. Opportunity for academic credit.
