Marketing and Public Relations Intern

I need an intern who is passionate and serious. This is an internship opportunity for a college senior, college graduate, or a graduate student.

Mount Hope is implementing an Online Marketing Campaign:
An intern will work directly with the Sr. Development Associate to:
• Create and send online e-newsletters (Template created). Expectation: 1-2 e-newsletters monthly.
• Drive Mount Hope’s “Shop and Donate” online campaign

General Marketing Responsibilities:
• Send a printed newsletter and annual appeal letter. Expectation: 1 newsletter and appeal quarterly.
• Help to establish a Membership system for Mount Hope
• Create press releases for events
• Create press kits
• Research and call professionals on current media list to find out if their information is updated
• Ensure that the marketing and public relations plan for 2009 remains on track.
• Create and implement all appropriate systems and metrics to increase operational efficiencies, enhance evaluation procedures and surpass fundraising goals

Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree with 1–2 years of related marketing experience
• Excellent organizational, communication, and negotiation skills
• Demonstrated skill writing promotional copy and press releases, and understanding of the creative/production process
• Strong interest to work in marketing
Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, Publisher, QuarkXpress, and Photoshop
• The intern must be motivated to learn the required skills to do the job and open to the thorough review of work for top quality standards.

The Mount Hope Housing Company is a non-profit, community development organization that provides affordable housing as well as youth services, employment and job training, real estate development and family asset building programs to residents of the Mount Hope community in the Bronx.

Flexible Time Frame: Must dedicate 3 days or more to the internship for 6 months or more.
