Volunteer Opportunity Details:

I'm interested in this opportunity

Fresh Start is a program for highly motivated participants of Rikers Island Discharge Enhancement (RIDE), which reduces rearrest and reincarceration of men serving short sentences on Rikers Island by providing transitional planning and aftercare services. Fresh Start provides cognitive skills, job readiness, and vocational training, including computer literacy and culinary arts education programs.

As a volunteer, you would support staff by doing research, communicating with participants, assisting in recruitment, and completing other tasks as needed.

A great opportunity to share and develop communication and non-profit experience while making a difference in the lives of participants!

Because this position is located on Rikers Island, people with past convictions need not apply.
