The City Reliquary Museum & Civic Organization is seeking a volunteer with moderate bookkeeping skills, basic office management experience and Accounts Receivable knowledge. If you are a civic-minded New Yorker and are looking to join a group of dedicated individuals who run our all-volunteer, non-profit community museum, then we need you!
We are looking for someone who has experience with small business accounting & bill pay, as well as office management. QuickBooks knowledge and receipt / reimbursement organization also helpful, as we are trying to move into the present with an online A/R database system that records our (rather nominal) cashflow.
Basic tasks include expense and income tracking, donation reimbursements, online billpay and providing a statement to our treasurer on a monthly basis. Estimated hours are 6 for the initial set-up and less than 2 per week as an ongoing position. Bookeeping shifts can be combined into bi-weekly or monthly appointments as fits your schedule.
Your office and workspace will be located in the backroom of our marvelous museum. The City Reliquary is a community museum and civic organization that collects the forgotten ephemera and historical artifacts of NYC.
Your community museum needs YOU! Please send a resume and inquiries to dave@cityreliquary.org. Please don’t call! Email first and we will contact you.
The only training requirement we have is a guided tour of the museum, which will allow you to understand the wonderful, weird, idiosyncratic world we work in. Odds are, YOU will be training US in how to get our Museum more up-to-speed in bookkeeping and financial accounting.
