Volunteer Opportunity Details:

I'm interested in this opportunity

Two of the most important components of our After-School Academy are the daily homework assistance and Literacy enrichment activities our students receive. Volunteers are desperately needed for the success of this program as they provide individual attention to our students, many of whom reside in the impoverished community of East New York, Brooklyn. Volunteers will work with 1-2 students at a time under the supervision of the Campus Volunteer Coordinator. This is a fantastic opportunity to develop meaningful, long-lasting relationships with Groundwork for Youth participants.

Volunteers must attend all trainings. Must also commit to at least 1 session (2 hours) per week and must complete all HR forms, which include background checks. A recent physical and TB test is also required prior to working with students. High School students are exempt from certain HR requirements.
