Volunteer Opportunity Details:

I'm interested in this opportunity

New York Cares volunteers work year round to keep our city's public spaces well maintained for all New Yorkers to enjoy and make sure that donated clothes and materials are redistributed to those in need.

Environment - Plant, weed, mulch, edge, and clear debris from parks and gardens throughout the five boroughs.

Revitalization - Turn schools, libraries, community centers, and other agencies into engaging and cheerful environments by applying fresh coats of paint, painting murals and line games in children's play areas, cleaning, and organizing.

Sorting - Sort and repair donated clothing that will be given to homeless and low-income families, sort and package groceries for clients at a food pantry, or organize art supplies for schools and educational programs.

Serving at a soup kitchen is better than 4 star dining

I'm a self proclaimed soup kitchen groupie. New York Cares Hunger projects have allowed me serve the poor, the homeless and disenfranchised in soup kitchens and by delivering meals to the homebound all around the city. Nothing could be more fun!
