BECOME A FOSTER PARENT FOR AN ANIMAL IN NEED!

The Mayor’s Alliance for NYC’s Animals has developed a foster care network for the pets of people in crisis.

As our economy worsens, and people fall victim to foreclosure, eviction, and homelessness, an increasing number have been forced to relinquish their beloved pets simply because of circumstances beyond their control.

As well, due to incidents of domestic violence, fires and illness, many people just need a safe, temporary place for their animal until they can get back on their feet.

Often, individuals and families in crisis have few options but to give up their animals.
These animals most often end up at a shelter where they risk euthanasia.

SAVE A LIFE AND KEEP A FAMILY TOGETHER –
BECOME A FOSTER PARENT FOR A TEMPORARILY HOMELESS ANIMAL!

Please note that when pets can not be reunified, we work to rehome them through our network of rescue groups and pet adoption programs -- they do not get placed at the shelter. At times, we may need fosters willing to care for pets while determining the long-term placement for each pet!
