The Opus 118 Harlem School of Music has an immediate opportunity for an unpaid and/or college credit intern for our Programs Department.
Reporting to the Dean of Programs, the intern will provide assistance and support for the programmatic goals for the organization. The primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Together with the Dean of Programs and other senior staff , work as a team to implement the strategic goals.
- Manage educational issues day to day, including regular communication with the Dean of Programs.
- Assist in meeting recruitment targets for afterschool program.
- Handle requests for student performances.
- Collaborate with Dean of Programs to further develop programs.
- Increase community services and widen network of partners.
- Work closely with public schools to increase Opus’ presence in the Community.
- Drive programmatic collaborations with other arts organizations.
- With the counsel of the Dean of Programs, provide programmatic direction for collaborations with other institutions.
- Minimum 1 year experience in the arts.
- Communication majors preferred.
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
- Strong writing, proofreading and editing skills.
- Exceptional organizational skills and proven ability to meet deadlines.
- Strong computer skills, including database management.
