March 19, 2009 marked The Children's Art Carnival's 40th year of providing innovative visual and communication arts programming for children and youth, ages 4-21, in Harlem and throughout New York City. As the Carnival prepare for a yearlong celebration of our 40th anniversary, we are actively recruiting individuals who can assist us in reaching our goal of raising $400,000.00 over and above the CAC’s general operating budget. Through this campaign we intend to:
• Establish a cash reserve fund.
• Provide Board sponsored CAC scholarships for local youth.
• Establish a scholarship fund for college bound CAC students pursuing undergraduate arts curriculum.
• Establish a fund for staff recruitment and retention.
• Fund institutional advancement efforts

Volunteer opportunities for individuals to share skills, knowledge and expertise in public relations & marketing, event planning, web design, financial management, fund development and fundraising, and board development.

Volunteers are recruited on an on-going basis through informational sharing sessions and other special presentations. Training is provided on an as-needed basis. There are no limitations on who may volunteer as long as the volunteer is committed to carrying out the tasks required and working with team to achieve outlined goals of specified areas.
