Volunteer Opportunity Details:

I'm interested in this opportunity

The Alliance for the Arts-- New York's nonprofit leader in arts research, advocacy and the promotion of cultural participation--offers an exciting opportunity for volunteers interested in development and event-planning. Volunteers will work directly with the Alliance's Director of Development, providing administrative support in all aspects of development, including producing and fundraising for the Alliance's annual benefit event in September. The event includes cocktails, dinner, dancing and the presentation of the Alliance for the Arts' Prize in recognition of outstanding service to the cultural and civic communities. This year the Alliance will salute theater by honoring the Jerome Robbins Foundation and the late Gerald Schoenfeld.

Major volunteer responsibilities: event research and communications, sponsorship appeals (gift bags, possible silent auction), volunteer coordination, data entry, filing, assistance at event, and other administrative duties. Fundraising and production initiative will be encouraged. Work activities coordinated on an individual basis. Timeframe: minimum of 3 hours per week for a minimum of 2 months, flexible schedule. Positions available immediately. Please send your resume or letter of interest to Robert Libbey, Director of Finance & Administration, at rlibbey@allianceforarts.org
