UCA Summer Day Camp: Arts & Crafts Instructor
Position Summary
The Instructor will be responsible for supporting UCA’s Summer Day Camp. The position is unpaid and we ask for a commitment of 2 hours per week. It’s a great opportunity to build teaching experience. The Instructor will work closely with the Assistant Instructors, Camp Coordinator and Program Manager to support UCA’s goals of serving Chinese immigrants with educational, advocacy and recreational opportunities.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Teaching/Classroom Duties:
• Research, plan, and create lesson plans.
• Prepare all classroom materials and supplies
• Create assignments for field trips and documentaries
• Plan and organize additional special events or workshops (for afternoon sessions)
• Give directions to Assistant Instructors to make sure they are following lesson plans
• Tutor individual students
• Enforce classroom rules
• Keep classroom records: attendance, grade assignments
• Attend and participate in meetings and trainings
The Instructor will work out of 6625 Bay Parkway, 2/F (Ph: 718.232.0055). The hours are Mondays, 2:30pm to 4:30pm, with occasional evening meetings or events.
Qualifications
The Instructor will be enthusiastic, self- motivated, hard working, and eager to learn.
