Volunteer Opportunity Details:

The Salvation Army Social Services of Greater New York needs a volunteer to help assist staff with tracking medical needs and medical appointments for about 500 foster boarding home and group home youth.

The right volunteer will assist staff with tracking needed appointments and securing documents from providers. In addition the volunteer would assist with answering telephone calls and making calls to foster parents in our ongoing effort to secure documentation of medical visits.

Volunteers need to have a working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel. It would be very helpful if volunteers were bilingual as some of the parents only speak Spanish. Some knowledge of health services would be excellent.
