Volunteer Opportunity Details:

Volunteer at the Steinway Adult Learning Center, in the Steinway Community Library (Astoria), which provides self-study and small-group instruction for Adult Literacy students learning to read/write, and Adult ESOL students who are learning English.

Duties include:
Answering basic inquiries,
Answering phone calls,
Scheduling student appointments,
Assisting new students at group orientations,
Registering students for groups and special events
Clerical duties, such as photo copying, filing, etc.

Commit at least three months to the program
Speak English fluently
Have patience, flexibility, reliability, and desire to help
