Web Application Developer is needed to work with our Technology Service Nonprofit to assist other nonprofits, community groups and small businesses with Internet Technology needs. The individual should have the ability to work under supervision and independently as a designer/programmer of websites for a range of clients, particularly other nonprofits.

This is a volunteer position.
Six month commitment.
15 hours per week (average).
Telecommuting allowed (up to 50%).

Experience: 2-4 years web application development experience expected Areas/Skills desired:

• Experience using RoR Framework for developing web applications
• Experience with dynamically generated web pages with both server-side and client-side scripts such as PHP, JSP, and JavaScript.
• Self-starter and willing to go the extra mile
• Keep good documentation for project cycle
• Have good programming skills and understand one or more programming languages
• Can read code written by others and make modifications accordingly
• Good verbal and written communication skills in English
• Good interpersonal skills
