Capital Campaign, Help Build A 20-Year Home for Experimental Arts in Downtown Brooklyn
Last updated on June 26, 2009

Volunteer Opportunity Details:

I'm interested in this opportunity

ISSUE Project Room seeks detail-oriented volunteers to assist us with research and writing to assist us in raising funds towards our 2.5 million dollar capital campaign. In the past six years and under the leadership of Founder and Artistic Director Suzanne Fiol, ISSUE has grown steadily and now produces more than 200 experimental and Avant-Garde music, literary, visual arts, sound design, and film/video events each year. Our programs continue to garner high praise from established artists, audience, and media such as The NY Times, ArtForum, The New Yorker and more. Our organization was recently selected from a pool of 100 competing cultural organizations to receive a 20-year rent-free lease to the beautiful and historic theater space at 110 Livingston in Downtown Brooklyn. In this space, ISSUE will present more than 4,000 programs reaching more than 1,000,000 people across the next 2 decades. Capital Campaign volunteers will be a critical component of this process. Capital Campaign volunteers will work with ISSUE’s staff and Board; identify donors/businesses/corporations whose primary interests are in supporting capital campaigns; assist with cultivation events; draft solicitation and donation acknowledgment letters; work with the Grants Research & Proposals Writing intern; and draft grant proposals for capital campaign. Volunteers should plan to work 10-15 hours per week.

Capital campaign volunteers should be detail and business oriented. If you are familiar with corporate giving or philanthropy officers at corporations, that would be a tremendous asset to our organization.
